Snowy Barlad

California Eskimos do exist! There are 23 of them here in Romania. It has been out-of-the-ordinary snowy. On the day we arrived in Barlad, there was no snow on the ground, but within a few hours a small blizzard occurred. It snowed a lot! The city is now white and cold. The churches we visited on Sunday said that they ordered the snow just for us. On top of that, the churches have been conserving energy. They have been freezing cold! It’s quite a sight to be singing the Children’s Institute songs bundled up in parkas, scarves, and beanies, while clouds of steamy, warm breath billow from the mouths of children.

Tim and Tyler with their Children’s Institute team

Here in Barlad we are staying in a hotel that is within walking distance of the church that is hosting the seminar. We visited three churches on Sunday. Jacob ended up preaching impromptu sermons in each church, several of the team members shared testimonies, and the whole team sang a number of songs. Looks like it will be a good week in Barlad! The churches here are open, friendly, and ministry-oriented.
